Millenium pond fundraising

The creation of the Green Bottom Millenium Pond required not only technical expertise, project management skills and significant physical effort, it also required funding.

Several grants were obtained; £250 from the Rural Initiative Fund, and £3,400 from the Lottery “Awards for all England*”.  Between 1999 and 2004, the Green Bottom residents undertook a variety of fund raising events, some within the community and some open to the general public.

These events not only raised funds and the profile of the hamlets locally, they strengthened community spirit and created fond memories for years to come.  We will provide more information and photos on these events in coming months.
